A new Neo Zeon train inspired from Mobile Suit Gundam UC will be transporting passengers between Namba Station and Osaka International Airport for a limited-time only special run. This is a result of a new collaboration between the hit mecha anime and Osaka’s Rapit Express Airport Railway line.
This collaboration is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Rapit Express and will run for a limited time from April 26, 2014 until June 30, 2014. This is also to promote the upcoming Gundam UC episode 7: Over the Rainbow which will be hitting Japanese theaters for a limited release on May 17, 2014 before its home video release on June 6, 2014.
The Neo Zeon train will feature designs inspired by the anime in both its interior and exterior. Inside the train, there will be specially colored seats which will signify three important Neo Zeon characters- Full Frontal, Angelo Sauper and Mineva lao Zabi (Audrey Burne). Best of all, passengers are allowed to take photos of these special seats.
Regular seats will cost 1,020 yen while Super Seats will cost 1,440 yen. Rapit Express will also be distributing 5,000 limited edition tickets during the collaboration period and it will surely be a hit among Gundam and train enthusiasts.
Passengers will also get several special memorabilia merchandise like towels and clear files along with the limited edition tickets. Rapit Express has also opened a special website just for the collaboration
