Winter is already over and Spring is finally in the air, and now, Sony has released its final Tornado anime rankings for Winter 2014 based on the anime which have been recorded using the PlayStation 3′s Torne digital recording device.
These rankings are based on the anime recorded using Torne all over Japan from the period of December 30, 2013 until March 30, 2014 and has gathered data from over 100,000 people. Torne has also released an initial ranking of the Winter 2014 anime based on the first few weeks of their broadcast, though it was only restricted within the Tokyo Metropolitan area and not Japan entirely.
Here are their results:

18: Yowamushi Pedal
17: Sakura Trick
16: Nourin
15: Space ☆ Dandy

13: Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta
12: Tonari no Seki-kun
11: D-Frag!

Looks like the top 5 ain’t very surprising as these titles have already proven themselves time and time again as the most popular anime of the Winter 2014 season.
According to Torne, Kill la Kill has ranked as the #1 anime for six consecutive months now. Since it premiered last October 2013, the anime has garnered a lot of fans and even attracted a bit of a controversy. Its ending was highly anticipated by fans and when it (the ending) finally aired, fans rejoiced and even generated many memes.
Chuunibyou and Nisekoi on the other hand proved to be anime romantic comedy mainstays and further cementing their popularity with their respective Winter 2014 runs. Noragami and Hoozuki no Reitetsu meanwhile proved that their popularity among female viewers is no fluke as they make #4 and #5 respectively.
Magical Warfare, which topped the initial rankings back in January took #6 while other Winter 2014 favorites like Witchcraft Works and Zvezda Plot also made it to the top 10.
Do you agree with their findings?
