Arpeggio of Blue Steel still has a story to tell–on the big screen.
In the Young King Ours magazine scans leaked by a fan, we see an announcement about two movies scheduled to premiere next year. The first movie will be a compilation of the 12-episode series and the second one will feature a brand new story. The staff from the TV anime series will reunite for both movies.
Arpeggio of Blue Steel is set in a futuristic Earth that lost most of its landmass due to effects of global warming. The “Fleet of Fog” with an arsenal of extremely powerful weapons appears and defeats humans which eventually prevented them from traveling the seas. After 17 years, Gunzō Chihaya along with his small crew called “Blue Steel” possess an I-401 (a Fog submarine) with its mental model named Iona. Altogether they stand up against the Fleet of Fog.
