Issue #31 of Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine has announced that Hiro Mashima’s best-selling shounen manga, Fairy Tail, will be having more spin-off mangas, and these will focus on the girls of the wild and wacky Fairy Tail guild.
Fairy Tail Blue Mistral focuses on the Sky Dragon Slayer, Wendy Marvell. The spin-off will be an origin story of sorts and it will be illustrated by Rui Watanabe. The manga will make its debut in the September issue of Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine which is due for release on August 2, 2014.
The second spin-off series will be Fairy Girls, which will be done by Boku. The manga will focus on two of the strongest women in the world, and judging from the image provided above, one of them being a certain Knight who loves strawberry shortcake and whose name is Erza Scarlet. It will make its debut inside the pages of the Kodansha Magazine Special Vol. 12 which will be released on November 20, 2014
There have been several Fairy Tail spin-off mangas before, with one focusing on FT’s first Guild Master, Mavis Vermillion, and it was titled “Fairy Tail Zero“.
