One Piece gets into the Guiness Book of World Records

Eiichiro Oda’s beloved Shounen Jump! manga, One Piece, has already won a lot of awards and accolades, however, none of them might even compare to the newest accolade the manga has won, and that of course is the Guinness Book of World Records.

So how did One Piece earn a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records? It’s simple, Eiichirou Oda just did what he has done best and work hard on making mangas, and enough to have over 320,866,000 copies printed in 30 different countries worldwide (by the end of December 2014). This has prompted the series to get the world record for “Most Copies Printed From A Single Author“.

Unfortunately, because Oda is always busy making mangas, he was unable to even attend his awarding ceremony, however, Shounen Jump! editor, Yoshihisa Heishi, was present and attended the ceremony and received the award on his behalf. There were even One Piece cosplayers celebrating with him! But then again, things would have been much better with Oda-sensei present, right?

However, the world-famous manga creator did thank everyone who supported One Piece and said that he is genuinely happy whenever he hears people getting touched by his work such as people making friends or finding lovers all because of his manga.
