The small coastal town of Oarai, Ibaraki prefecture has been the center of a lot of attention in Japan ever since the hit TV anime, Girls und Panzer premiered last October 2012. The town has felt a massive spike in tourism all because the anime was set in Oarai and it is most evident with the recently concluded Angler Fish Festival.
Last year, approximately 60,000 people visited Oarai for the Angler Fish Festival and that was when the anime was still airing and gathering popularity. One year later in 2013, the annual autumn festival celebrating the angler fish has seen its highest recorded number in history as more than 100,000 visitors gathered in the small town.
The town has thoroughly prepared for the event and has braced for the massive influx of visitors. Their preparations can be seen through this link.

More information about this game will be revealed on the 555th issue of Dengeki PlayStation magazine to be released on November 28, 2013. A teaser website has also been opened.
The event also unveiled details for the upcoming Garupan OVA. It will be titled ”Kore ga Hontō no Anzio-sen Desu!” or “This Is the Real Anzio Battle!”. Renowned mecha designer, Hajime Katoki, widely known for his mecha designs for various Gundam series as well as the ver. Ka line for Bandai’s MG gunpla will be contributing in the OVA’s storyboards.
