Paris is known as the “City of Love” and there is no doubt that Parisians absolutely love Hatsune Miku as her first international stage opera in the historic Chatalet theatre (Théâtre du Châtelet) has been announced as sold out.
The advanced tickets sold out so fast that the organizers have decided to increase the number of performances.
The stage opera known as “Hatsune Miku: The End” has been extremely successful in Japan and with the sold out tickets in Paris, it is now clear that the the whole world has grown to love the virtual diva. During the play, Miku will once again don that lovely black and white Luois Vuitton dress designed for her by renowned fashion designer Marc Jacobs.
The play will be a first for the historic French theater as this will be the first “Virtual Opera” that will be done in its rich 150-year history. The play of course is created by Keiichiro Shibuya with the original concept by Toshiki Okada.
In an interview with French news and media website le Monde dated November 1, 2013, Keiichiro Shibuya was asked how the play would fit the traditional opera. He answered that “Hatsune Miku: The End” is composed of electronic music and takes more influence from traditional Japanese court music over classical European music. He then admitted that he took influence from dance music, dubstep and K-pop as his inspirations. He then commented that Hatsune Miku can hit notes higher than any human could.
This futuristic play on a traditional European opera house is scheduled November 12, 13 and 15 (Paris time).
