With the popularity of itashas steadily increasing in Japan, about 100 of these anime-themed cars as well as their enthusiasts have gathered in Odaiba for the Odaiba Motor Festival’s “Ita-G Festa business trip version”.
The event was held yesterday, November 24, 2013 at the Toyota showroom “Mega Web”. Approximately 100 itashas went on display and showcased several anime, video game and vocaloid-themed cars.
That unique Ultimate Madoka itasha we featured in an earlier article was also on display and it most certainly turned a lot of heads.
This Shimakaze itasha is inspired by Kantai Collection’s cute blonde anthropomorphic battleship and comes with its own Shimakaze cosplayer.
The Volkswagen Beetle may be old but this car is certainly given a fresh look with its nice Touhou twist.
Plenty of Love Live! itashas were featured and Toyota was even selling official Love Live! itashas during the event.
Other series like Girls und Panzer, Yuru Yuri, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, K-On!! and many more were represented with the various itashas which were displayed. Here are the other cars on display.
