Kantai Collection fans and admirals rejoice! Because Kantai Collection is getting another anime, this time in the form of a new animated feature film. A screening footage has been shown during the 2nd KanColle Kankanshiki (2nd KanColle Naval Review) event but it has yet to hit the internet.
The visual above, which features the battleships Nagato and Mutsu, as well as the Super Battleships, Yamato and Musashi , is the event’s visual and not the new movie’s, however, the footage shown during the event confirms that the anime’s cast will be returning for another round with the dreaded abyssals.
The footage confirmed that the three main characters, Destroyers Fubuki, Yuudachi (poi!), and Mutsuki, are going to be in the animated feature film, together with the aircraft carriers, Akagi, Kaga, Shoukaku, Zuikaku, Soryuu Kai Ni, and Hiryuu Kai Ni, the fast battleships, Kongou, Hiei, Haruna, and Kirishima, battleships Mutsu and Nagamon Nagato, heavy cruisers Choukai Kai Ni, Furutaka Kai Ni, and Kako Kai Ni, light cruisers Kuma and Ooyodo, torpedo cruisers Ooi and Kitakami, and destroyer Shimakaze. And did we mention poi?
The anime’s staff indicated via twitter that there will also be a sequel anime project to the original anime season, which aired earlier this year during the winter 2015 season. Their tweet also indicated that the movie and the sequel anime will be separate projects and are being produced at the same time.

And for all the admirals out there playing Kadokawa and DMM’s highly popular game, the Summer 2015 event will be starting today, and maintenance on the game will begin at around 9:00 am Japan time (10:00 am SG/PH time). Make sure you’ve sent your ships on expeditions and leveled up your carriers because this event is said to haven an emphasis on carriers!
