Today marks the opening Day for Comiket 88 , and the Biannual otaku and Doujinshi Extravaganza IS expected to BE as crazy as ever with long lines, Intense Heat, great cosplays, and crazy antics,
An estimated 5,000 people have descended into Odaiba’s Tokyo Big Sight area the night before just so they can get some prime spots in the event’s legendary long lines. The main reason for them taking the effort to brave the Japanese summer night and camp out is mostly the fact that many items might get sold out in just a few minutes.

Things got serious however. Because of the overwhelming numbers, and because of the summer night heat, several people suffered from heat stroke and an ambulance was suddenly called into the area.
