Sega teases new Hatsune Miku project with mysterious website

After previously announcing a new Hatsune Miku project earlier this month, Sega has opened a new teaser website, which many fans are saying is related to the virtual diva, Hatsune Miku.

Then website only features the numbers 3939.00/3939, and is a countdown timer to 3939 minutes into August 31, 2015. But what exactly does this number have anything to do with Miku? In Japan, the number 39 can be read as “San-Kyu”, it can also be read as “Mi-Ku”, and the number has also been associated with Miku herself on numerous occasions.

Still not convinced the website has anything to do with Miku? See those colored threads waving about? Those threads represent colors associated with Crypton’s vocaloid characters, with aquamarine being associated with Miku, pink with Luka, the two yellow threads being associated with the Kagamine twins, red for MEIKO, and blue for KAITO.

So what will this teaser website bring us? I guess we will find out on August 31, 2015.
