Media watchdog gets complaints over SHIMONETA: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist

S.O.X. maybe fighting to ease the censorship being done in the story of SHIMONETA: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist, however, it seems that they are fighting censorship in the real world as well.

The anime has received several complaints in the Japanese media watchdog group, Broadcasting Ethics and Program Improvement Organization (BPO). Though its title was definitely not mentioned in a new report by the watchdog group, fans have identified that it really is Shimoneta that people have complained about.

One complaint stated that a certain late night anime clearly stated the name of some genitals, even though the word was bleeped (censored) out. Another complaint said that a late night anime uses a gesture that suggests sexual intercourse and has been flagged as inappropriate. These descriptions are what lead some fans to believe that the complaints are in fact directed towards Shimoneta.

Shimoneta is known for its blatant scenes which are very suggestive, and for fans of the series, it’s what makes the anime great. As the anime is regarded for being really raunchy, a lot of fans have seen these types of complaints coming as the anime has been deemed offensive for a few conservatives, who often sound like the people S.O.X. has been fighting against!
