These life-size Detective Conan statues used to promote the Sunflowers of Inferno in China are scary

Detective Conan, also known as Case Closed!, is quite popular in China. And when the latest Detective Cona film, Flowers of Inferno, opened in the country, a certain cinema decided to use life-size statues of some of the characters to help promote the film. Needless to say, it shocked many people.

But before you guys blame it on “Chinese-quality craftsmanship,” it has been reported that these status were actually made by children from a nearby school. That’s a little bit more forgivable, right? After all, they are kids.

Needless to say, some fans in China still thought they were quite scary and might even scare away some children. The statues were displayed alongside life-size standees of some of the movie’s characters, which apparently highlighted the statues’ flaws. Well, at least the kids tried, right? It’s the thought that counts.
