Vote for your favorite anime that needs more foreign attention with Sugoi Japan Awards 2016

Japanese newspaper publication, Yomiuri Shimbun, has now opened the voting for the 2016 edition of the Sugoi Japan Awards, an awards body designed to increase awareness for Japanese works that deserve the attention of people living outside of Japan.

These awards also promote e “universality,” “originality”, and “potential”, and are divided into four categories, manga, light novel, anime, and entertainment novel. The 92 works listed as nominees have been chosen by industry experts, and fans get to choose the Top 10. Voting will only be until January 3, 2015, and the winners will be announced on March 22, 2016. Here are the nominees:

Last year’s awards were won by Attack on Titan, Madoka Magica, and My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU for manga, anime, and light novels respectively.

Basically, what Sugoi Japan aims for is to have Japanese works be acknowledged and noticed by the rest of the world and it has launched an online poll for people to vote which manga, light novel, entertainment novel or anime is their favorite work and would want to introduce to the world.
