[NEW ANIME] Science Fiction/ Romance shoujo manga, Orange, gets a TV anime adaptation

Ichigo Takano’s shoujo manga, Orange, is headed to TV screens this summer 2016, as a new TV anime adaptation has been green-lit for the Science Fiction/ Romance manga series, and it will be animated by TMS and Telecom Animation Film.

Steins; Gate and Terraformars director, Hiroshi Hamasaki, who is definitely no stranger to the science fiction genre, is directing the anime off of the scripts made by Chihayafuru season 2 writer, Yuuko Kakihara. The Vision of Escaflowne character designer, Nobuteru Yuki, is the one in charge of character designs for this anime.

The manga follows Naho Takamiya, a high school student who suddenly gets a letter from her 27-year old self, and warns her about an incoming transfer student named Kakeru Nase. Hmmmmm, sounds like something the director of Steins; Gate would be all to familiar with, right? Orange is scheduled to premiere this summer 2016.
