The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to host Japanese metal idol group, Baby Metal

American late night TV is getting another taste of Japanese pop culture, as the Late Show With Stephen Colbert will be hosting Japanese metal idol group, Baby Metal, to promote their latest album, Metal Resistence.

The group’s American distributor, RED, confirmed that they will be appearing on the show, however, no exact date has been given so far, but it is expected within the week of the album’s April 1 release.

Baby Metal is certainly no stranger to the United States, as Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-Metal), Moa Kikuchi (Moametal), and Yui Mizono (Yuimetal), the three members of the metal idol group, have opened for Lady Gaga’s ArtRAVE tour back in 2014.

The last time The Late Show hosted a Japanese musical icon, it was back when legendary comedian, David Letterman, was still hosting the show, and his guest? Hatsune Miku!
