Daikin X Hatsune Miku cloud project has the virtual diva preforming over the skies of Hokkaido

Let’s take a look at the weather in Hokkaido today, shall we?

Temperatures are at between 8 to 14 degrees Celsius. The forecast? Cloudy, with a chance of Hatsune Miku performing — if the engineers over at Dikon were to carry out the Dikon X Hatsune Miku cloud project experiment again, that is.

Back in the middle of September, Japanese air conditioner manufacturer Daikin carried out a series of nature-based technology experiments aimed at investigating if clouds in the skies could be used as a screen for projectors.

One of those experiments involved having virtual diva Hatsune Miku perform on the clouds hovering above Hokkaido.

Theoretically speaking, it would be possible. In fact, it would be quite similar to Hatsune Miku’s Yokohama Bay concert. Except instead of using sprinklers to disperse water droplets into the air and using the mass of densely humid air as a screen for projection, over here the engineers were projecting onto clouds — which are already a mass of densely humid air to begin with.

The results? See for yourself in this video below.
