Saint Seiya brings a cool twist to the traditional Japanese card game of Hanafuda

The Japanese have enjoyed playing card games for hundreds of years which can be traced all the way to the mid-1500′s, Now, Bandai is changing things up a little by introducing these Saint Seiya Hanafuda cards.


These cards are a result of a collaboration between Nintendo and Bandai and they bring a Saint Seiya twist to this old Japanese tradition.

The pack contains 48 playing cards as well as one spare card and comes in a special heavyweight die cast box. These hanafuda cards are printed with artwork inspired by 15 years’ worth of Saint Seiya myths and lore. These special hanafuda cards can be enjoyed by all ages.

They are scheduled for release February 2014 and are now available for pre-orders via the Premium Bandai official website for 7,140 yen.
