Yesterday the Makuhari Messe exhibition center in Japan’s Chiba prefecture was infested with giant monsters (okay, life-sized plastic statues of giant monsters), as Capcom called upon hunters all over Japan to come to the venue as they celebrated Monster Hunter Festa ’13.
A total of 20,000 people visited yesterday’s event and boy were they in for a doozy as the event featured exhibits containing the game’s most powerful, and terrifying monsters in life-size 1:1 scale. Monsters like the Rathalos, Zinogre, and of course, the Monster Hunter 4 flagship monster, the Goa Magara.
The wall of Makuhari Messe Hall also featured one gigantic tapestry which featured the size differnce in some monsters.
Life-sized hunters, Lynians and weapons were also exhibited as well as some other familiar sights from the game.
Visitors also had the chance to gaze upon the 1:1 scale footprints of various monsters as they littered Makuhari Messe’s floor. Can you guess which monster that gigantic 639cm footprint belongs to?
Cosplayers also made their presence felt as they welcomed guests near the event’s entrance.
