Tomorrow, October 24, marks the Japanese PS3 home release of Arc System Work’s BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma 2D fighting game.
To celebrate the release of this long-awaited fighter, local fighting games community Rebel 2 is organising, in conjunction with SGCafe and Tough Cookie Gaming Cafe (note: neither of us serves a mean cuppa, Kappa), a Week 1 BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma at Tough Cookie’s premises on November 3, 2013.
So go out there, fighting game fans in Singapore. Hit up your favourite games retailer tomorrow, pick up a copy of the game, then on Sunday, November 3, come riot with us. There’ll be lots of action, plenty of jesting, and just in general a lot of fun to be had.
Even if you’re completely new to the BlazBlue fighting game series — perhaps the currently-airing BlazBlue: Alter Memory anime show sparked your interest — and don’t actually own a copy of the game, come on down anyway. The community will teach you the basics; you don’t actually need to learn a whole lot just to have fun with the game.
Here are the main highlights on November 3:
- 2 v 2 team tournament
- 1 v 1 singles tournament
- BBCP Beginner Class given by Prof Jaeshi and his quiet assistant Faylar
- Rebel 2′s very own resident BlazBlue cosplayers
We’ve got plenty of prizes to give out to the tournament winners. Even if you’re not very good at the game, you may still stand a chance at winning something — so don’t be shy, come on down to Tough Cookie Gaming Cafe on November 3. You may actually be oodles better at the game than I am at it.
Here’s a brief preview of what you could win in the BBCP tournament on November 3:
All of the prizes you see above are provided by the very gracious folks over at Arc System Works, who prepared all the following for us after we told them that the Rebel 2 community had been organising frequent tournaments, and would really love to do something bigger to commemorate the new game’s release. We thank Arc System Works for their support on this event.
Check the SGCafe front page tomorrow for a more thorough breakdown of the prizes; go pick up a copy of the game tomorrow as well, practice a little, share your excitement for the game with the Rebel 2 community on Facebook (check out our forums, too, to chat about video games), and I’ll see you very soon, at the tournament on November 3.
Until then, Restriction 666 released, Dimensional Interference Field deplayed… BlazBlue, Activate!
