Priceless manga graffiti art on old Shogakukan building can now be viewed on a special website

Demolitions have now begun on the historic old Shogakukan building to make way for a brand new and improved Shogakukan head quarters.


To celebrate the memories of the historic old building, legendary manga artist Fujiko Fujio A (Doraemon) and 22 other manga artists led the charge and drew manga graffiti all over the old building.

The drawings were so popular that Shogakukan finally opened the old building’s doors for the public to view these graffiti artworks last August 24 and 25, 2013.

Now, to preserve these priceless pieces of art that are now destroyed thanks to the demolition, Shogakukan has opened a special website for the public to view all of them. They painstakingly photographed each and every drawing from the first floor, the 1st basement floor, the stairs and the 6th floor. Here are some of them
