Anime Japan is arguably one of the biggest anime events in the world and with its upcoming 2014 edition this March, the event’s official twitter account as well as its official website have been quite busy making announcements as of late.
The official twitter account has made several new announcements including the sale of goods featuring collaborations by various anime series. The announced collaborations are Attack on Titan X Monogatari Series, Madoka Magica X Rascal the Raccoon and Girls und Panzer X Strike Witches X Kantai Colection.
The three-way collaboration between tank series Girls und Panzer, warplane series Strike Witches and warship series Kantai Collection is not very surprising as all three belong to Kadokawa. The collaboration between Attack on Titan and Monogatari Series is not very surprising as well as both series are published by Kodansha and are both considered the publishing company’s two biggest titles. The surprising collaboration would be the one between Madoka Magica and classic 70′s anime Rascal the Raccoon (ラスカル) which was responsible for the popularity of keeping raccoon as pets in Japan during the 70′s.
Their twitter account also stated that there will be a new announcement on the Mobile Suit Gundam series during the event on March 22, 2014 at the Green Stage. The new Gundam announcement will come along with NTV’s presentations for Nisekoi, Atelier: Esca & Logy, and Buddy Complex.
The event’s official website meanwhile presented the exhibitors which will set up their booths at the Tokyo Big Sight. Companies like Curtain Damashii, Animate, Cospa and Gift will be selling anime-related goodies in an event which will also feature booths from Shaft, Animax, Aniplex, Daisuki.net and more. One studio however has garnered some attention as Gonzo has announced that they will be announcing a new anime series during the event and it will be broadcasted April 2014 as part of the Spring 2014 anime season.
Anime Japan is considered the biggest anime event in Japan. It will be held from March 22-23, 2014 at the world-famous Tokyo Big Sight.
