Death Note is without a doubt, one of the most successful anime and manga franchises around with spin-offs, live-action adaptations, figures and various merchandise. The manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata has thrilled fans both young and old, male and female for 10 years now and to celebrate a decade’s worth of milestone’s, a Death Note-inspired real escape game has just been announced.
The game will be organized by Japanese company, Scrap, who have done several real escape games internationally in countries like the United States, China and Singapore.
Besides the newly-announced Death Note real escape game, Scrap is also currently organizing an Attack on Titan-based real escape game in six different locations all over Japan.
The “10th anniversary Death Note Real Escape Game” will be held in both Tokyo and Osaka from the period of May 30- July 27, 2014. There will also be a game at the Scrap Secret Base in Harujuku, Tokyo where there is a 2,800 yen entrance fee. More details will be announced in the future.
Speaking of Death Note’s 10th anniversary, a special site has been opened and it shows a countdown. From the looks of things, once the countdown reaches zero, several new announcements will be made, and knowing the twists and turns of Death Note, some of these announcements may not be what you think and will cause some big surprises.
