It has already been called sexist, obscene and very embarrassing by many in the gaming world and it has not even been released yet! The controversial new Senran Kagura cooking-based rhythm game, Dekamori Senran Kagura has certainly gathered a whole lot of attention and raised a lot of eyebrows when Japanese idol group KNU got their clothes ripped off to promote the upcoming game and now, the game’s official website has just been launched.
The website reveals that the upcoming “Cooking Battle Rhythm Game” will be a head-to-head battle and the loser gets her clothes ripped off by a beam fired by the judge, the legendary ninja Hanzo.
Clothing damage has been one of Senran Kagura’s most identifying traits as the series is known for having its female characters getting their clothes ripped off during fights.
In Dekamori Senran Kagura however, it will be a cooking battle where the ninja girls will be facing off against one another as they cook various meals for the judge, Hanzo. The game not only promises some clothing damage but also a lot of things going up and down and bouncing around.
The website also reveals five of the girls who will be competing in the cooking battle. They are:
Asuka
Ikaruga
Katsuragi
Yagyu
Hibari
The Senran Kagura game series has sparked some controversy as people call its outrageous “Jiggle Physics” sexist and offensive, however, Senran Kagura is still one of the most popular titles in Japan as the original game has ranked third most purchased digital Vita game as well as the fifth most purchased digital game overall on the Japanese PlayStation Network for 2013.
Its latest title, Dekamori Senran Kagura is scheduled for release March 20, 2014 for the PS Vita. Here is the trailer:
