Kaiyodo‘s bi-annual extravaganza known as Wonder Festival is a celebration of figures from big name companies like Good Smile Company, Bandai and Kotobukiya to individual figure sculptors showing off their garage kits. It is considered one of the most important events in the anime fan calendar along with the World Cosplay Summit, Anime Festival Asia (AFA), Anime Japan and Comiket as it shows the very best figures in Japan.
It’s true that the figures will always be the stars of the event, but people are forgetting one thing, there’s cosplay too!
Over at Bandai’s booth where they announced the addition of Kantai Collection’s Yamato to their Armor Girls Project (AGP) figure line, a Yamato cosplayer seems to have stolen the show.
With Japan experiencing its biggest snow storm in 13 years, the outdoor cosplay venue was changed into an indoor venue but that did not stop the cosplayers from showing their very best as 108 of them strutted their stuff inside Makuhari Messe Hall. Like Winter Comiket 2013, WonFes’s cosplays were also dominated by Kantai Collection.
But there were also ones from other series like Kill la Kill, Madoka Magica, Nisekoi, Attack on Titan, Touhou, and more.
Speaking of Kill la Kill cosplays, here’s one way to not get arrested: wear a bra
Also, here’s Hentai Kamen, ladies and gentlemen!
