10,000 people vote for the anime characters with the worst personalities

There will always be anime characters who will never be Mr./Miss Personality as their attitudes would always seem to need some adjustment. And with that, Japanese character database, Charapedia, has recently asked its readers which anime character do they think has the absolute worst personality, you know, the ones who you usually don’t like hanging out with for their bad attitudes.

With 10,000 votes totaled, 52.3% of which are males while 47.7% are which are females, the poll gathered a collection of characters with some very interesting personalities from the “bad dads” to the “b*tchy girls” to “homicidal maniacs”. Here are the results from Charapedia’s poll of anime characters with the worst personalities:

Taking the #1 spot is none other than one of the greatest anime trolls out there, Izaya Orihara, who just loves having fun at the expense of others. Let’s just say he loves seeing other people in trouble and he will do everything in his power to get them in trouble… Oh, and he also loves humanity somehow.

A pair of Makotos take #2 and #3 respectively with Kuroko’s Basketball’s sadistic Makoto Hanamiya taking the #2 spot, while #3 goes to one of the most hated main characters in the history of anime for being a two-timing playboy, Makoto Itou. Who here hates these two? I’m quite sure there are plenty of you out there.

Dragon Ball villain Frieza takes #4 while Sougo Noboyuki, one of the most hated antagonists in anime, takes the #5 spot. Other characters who are very known for their bad personalities have also made the list like #10 ranked Katejina Loos who is considered by many as the most hated Gundam character in history and #20 ranked Gendou Ikari, “The World’s Greatest Dad”, who surprisingly got a lower ranking than expected.

like Makoto Itou, main characters have proven that they are not safe from bad personalities. Even though he is regarded as one of the best male anime characters of 2013, Oregairu’s main character, Hachiman, takes the #14 spot while OreImo’s Kirino takes the #18 spot… probably because she is more tsun than dere most of the time.
