As Yuusei Matsui’s Shounen Jump! manga, Assassination Classroom, has been confirmed to not only have an upcoming anime adaptation scheduled to premiere on January 2015, but also a live-action movie, the cast for the live-action adaptation has now been announced.
The movie will be directed by Eiichiro Hasumi and will be based on the popular comedy manga about class 3-E that is being taught skills in assassination by Koro-sensei, a mysterious alien being powerful enough to destroy 70% of the moon and can move to speeds up to mach-20. Koro-sensei teaches assassination to his students in order for them to kill him, or else he will destroy the entire planet.
Main protagonist, Nagisa Shiota, will be played by Japanese singer/ dancer/ actor/ voice actor Ryosuke Yamada who is best known for playing the role of Hajime Kindaichi in the Kindaichi Casefiles live-action TV movies.
The other cast members have also been confirmed with Shiina Kippei playing Tadaomi Karasuma, Masaki Suda (Princess Jellyfish) playing Karma Akabane, Maika Yamamoto (Kamen Teacher) playing Kaede Kayano, Seika Taketomi playing Rio Nakamura, Mio Yuki playing Yukiko Kanzaki, and Miku Uehara playing Manami Okuda
Filming is set to begin on August 31, 2014 at an undisclosed elementary school somewhere in the Kanto region. The live-action Assassination Classroom movie is scheduled to premiere March 15, 2015.
The original manga by Yuusei Matsui started serialization back in 2012 and is now one of the most successful titles in Weekly Shounen Jump!, and that is saying a lot as it is being serialized along with big names such as Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, and Nisekoi.
