After almost seven years, manga artist Tadatoshi Fujimaki will finally be ending one of the most successful sports mangas in history, Kuroko’s Basketball, or in Japan, Kuroko no Basket.
The series will end in issue #40 of Weekly Shounen Jump! which will be released on September 1, 2014. The manga has had a very successful run these past seven years with countless merchandise, a spin-off light novel, and two very successful anime seasons, with an upcoming third season. But the series did have its share of controversies with a series of threats made to several events where doujinshis of the series were sold. The threat became so serious that Comiket had to ban all KuroBas doujinshis from their events.
The manga has 28 released compiled volumes so far, with the 29th about to be released October 2014. As of April 2014, the series has over 27 million copies in circulation.
