Hanamonogatari, a story arc in Nisio Isin’s Monogatari series of light novels that stars Suruga Kanbaru as the heroine, will be adapted into a TV anime and broadcasted in Japan sometime in 2014, the October issue of Dengeki G’s Magazine is reporting.
Details on Hanamonogatari’s runtime or episode count were not revealed, but this series will most likely be handled in a manner similar to that for Nekomonogatari (Black), which was a four-episode special that preceded the rest of the Monogatari series second season TV anime that began airing in Japan earlier this year in July.
Hanamonogatari was originally planned to be part of the Monogatari series second season TV anime show, but was excluded from it in the end as the producers had trouble squeezing it into the show’s 26-episode (“two cours” or half-a-year airing schedule) format, according to Aniplex’s Iwakami Atsuhiro.
Thus in the end, the Monogatari series 2nd season TV anime would cover only the Nekomonogatari (White), Kabukimonogatari, Otorimonogatari, Onimonogatari, and Koimonogatari arcs.
Monogatari series 2nd season is an on-going TV anime series. New episodes are simulcasted on Crunchyroll and Daisuki.net, with English subs, every week (not available in certain countries).
