Fictional food, from Harry Potter’s butter beer to Spongebob Squarepants’ Krabby patties, people have been wanting to taste the food they have been reading or watching about.
Japanese manga website Mangazenkan takes a look at some fictional foods from mangas and asks readers which of the foods they have read about do they want to eat. With a total of 390 votes, here are their results:
1-Tonio’s Italian Cuisine from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: 15 votes
Italians have been known to be the best cooks in the world and Chef Tonio Trussardi’s scrumptious Italian meal from his restaurant takes the #1 spot in mangazenkan’s list.
2- Sanji’s fried rice from One Piece: 12 votes
Sanji is not the Straw Hat pirates’ resident cook for nothing and his fried rice is often said to be legendary. So legendary that people who watch One Piece want to eat it.
3- Manga meat from Gyatoruzu: 10 votes
Ah yes, the classic and now-iconic manga meat has been featured in many types of media from anime to video games. The classic caveman manga Gyatorazu may have a hand in its popularity since the manga’s epicly large meat portions would make most meat lovers’ mouths water. And speaking of meat lovers…
4- Luffy’s meat bones from One Piece
Inspired by the manga meat often seen in other mangas, the meat-in-bone from One Piece has been quite popular in of itself. Let’s just say you just have to get out of the way once Luffy sees a pile like this one.
5- Bread and Cheese from Heidi, Girl of the Alps: 8 votes
6- Senzu Beans from Dragon Ball: 7 votes
7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12- Pineapple chicken curry and Special pork cutlet on rice from Mister Ajikko, Chicken rice from Shokugeki no Soma, Stone oven-baked pizza from Silver Spoon, Ichiraku Ramen from Naruto and the Century Soup from Toriko: 5 votes each
13, 14, 15, 16- Curry bread from Black Butler, beef bowl from Kinnikuman, pirate lunch from One Piece and the puffer fish whale from Toriko: 4 votes each
17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 25, 27- Raw egg over rice from Silver Spoon, Black Curry from Hochonin Ajihei, water meat from One Piece, Dorayaki from Doraemon, oden from Oishinbo, jewel meat from Toriko, witch herring from Kiki’s Delivery Service, apple risotto from Shokugeki no Soma, paiyu potato from One Piece, sushi from Shota Sushi and the hamburgers from Hakushon Daimao.
The list is a combination of both foods that are impossible to get like most of the entries from Toriko and foods that can be done in the real world like Heidi’s bread and cheese. Well, fictional or not, these foods can truly make anyone’s mouth water, don’t you think?
