Japan invites Filipino students interested in anime, manga & cosplay for a cultural exchange

In the past, Japanese government certainly hasn’t been shy about using anime and manga to promote tourism to the country.

And with anime tourism currently on the rise in Japan, the land of the rising sun is now also inviting students from the Philippines who are interested in anime, manga and cosplay to come to the nation for a cultural exchange program.

According to a press release by the Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC), 23 selected Filipino students from technical institutes, colleges, and universities, aged 18-30 years old, will be invited to attend a 10-day exchange program in Japan from March 21-30, 2014 as part of their “on-going campaign to support and sustain cross-cultural engagement among the youth” which is the JENESYS 2.0 program.
