Robot Girls Z voice actresses surprise audience by cosplaying as their characters

During the Robot Girls Z Complete Showcase event last December 23, 2013 held at Space FS Shiodome in Tokyo, fans were treated to a great surprise when the Robot Girls Z voice actresses showed up cosplaying their respective characters.


Mariko Honda (Kurimu Sakurano from The Student Council’s Discretion) appeared as her character, Zed-chan/Mazinger Z, Inori Minase (Suzu Tanashi from Love Lab) cosplayed Gre-chan/Great Mazinger and Kazusa Aranami (Tomoe Gojouin from Da Capo IIIcosplayed Grenda-san/Grendizer.

The supporting cast were present as well although they did not cosplay. Yukiko Morishita who voices Garada K7, Aya Hisakawa who voices Baron Ashura and Nao Touyama who voices Doublas M2 were also present to the delight of many fans.


Robot Girls Z is the re-imagining of Go Nagai’s classic manga, Mazinger Z, which redefined the Super Robot genre, into super cute moe anime girls. The anime is part of Mazinger Z’s 40th anniversary celebrations. The series pokes fun of the Super Robot genre and involves familiar super robots like Getter Robo, Gaiking and Jeeg.

Go Nagai himself even welcomed the main cast of Mariko Honda, Inori Minase and Kazusa Aranami into his home for a visit.


The anime has just started airing in Japan when it made its premiere yesterday, January 4, 2014 as part of the 2014 Winter anime season.
