Sega‘s upcoming cross-over fighting game featuring Dengeki Bunko’s most popular characters, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, will finally be released to Japanese arcades this March 19, 2014. Dengeki Online is taking a look at some of the game’s fighters and they have already started with Sword Art Online’s Kirito and Shakugan no Shana’s Shana.
Now, they are taking a look at two heavy hitters which can leave their opponents in a whole new world of hurt – Accel World’s “Black King”, Kuroyukihime and Durarara!’s “Berserker Bartender”, Shizuo Heiwajima.
First, let’s take a look at the lovely “Princess Snow Black” herself, Kuroyukihime (Kuro = Black, Yuki = Snow, Hime = Princess). She is known as the Black King and is leader of the Nega Nebulus. She is one of the “Seven Kings of Color” within Accel World and also serves as the student council president in her school in the real world.
She will be appearing in her school avatar, yet her Accel World avatar, Black Lotus will be doing most of the fighting for her. Kuroyukihime’s finishing move will be “Death by Piercing” which is a very powerful, high-damage ranged attack. Her moves can also limit opponents’ movements which makes her a very effective mid to long range fighter.
Kuroyukihime can use her “Overdrive to respond to various circumstances and use “Death by Flashing” to increase her damage output. She can also use some of the moves used by Sword Art Online’s Kirito such as Vorpal Strike and his patented Star Burst Stream. Looks like even in a cross-over game, rumors that she is Kirito’s daughter will also be popping up as both SAO and Accel World share the same author, Reki Kawahara, with the latter set 20 years after the former.
From a beautiful MMO princess, let’s then go and take a look at Durarara!’s ever-so-dangerous berserker, Shizuo Heiwajima who will be pummeling opponents with a wide variety of objects like traffic signs and guard rails to of course, let’s not forget them flying vending machines.
The abnormally strong and durable Shizuo may dress up as a bartender, but he is actually working as a body guard for a local Ikebukuro loan shark. His fits of anger has been compared by many to none other than the Hulk as he has been known to throw whole vending machines (contents included) for a few blocks in trying to hit his targets. Let’s put it this way, you won’t like him when he’s angry.
Like the Hulk in Marvel Vs Capcom III, he is quite durable and can deal a lot of damage to his opponents. His superhuman strength can make him do all sorts of guard breaking attacks so if going up against him, sometimes dodging would be wiser. He will also use anything as a weapon from traffic signs to lamp posts (which he most likely destroyed himself).
Shizuo is known for throwing stuff and surely enough, he will indeed be throwing those really heavy vending machines at opponents. His use of weapons make him an effective mid and long range fighter, but in close, he is definitely no slouch as he can beat down enemies with a variety of kicks and punches. He can also jump up in the air and deliver a very powerful flying kick. Ouch!
He can go into a frenzy with “Kurosu Kurosu Kurosu Kurosu!!!” or “Kill Kill Kill Kill!!!” and finish off opponents with “Fukitobe Etsu!”
The fighting game will be hitting Japanese arcades on March 18, 2014. No word on whether the game will have a home console release yet.
