During the 35th Anniversary live event streamed online via Gundam35th.net, it was announced that legendary director and the man who created Mobile Suit Gundam, Yoshiyuki Tomino will be returning this very year, 2014, as the director of a brand new Gundam series entitled Gundam Reconguista in G.
The presentation also teased the audience on an upcoming Gundam. Not much has been announced about this new series however, except for the fact that it will be directed by Tomino and will come later this year in Autumn.

Another part of the 35th anniversary celebrations is the Tokyo Gundam Project 2014 which will have the 1:1 scale RX-78-2 Gundam in Odaiba tour four Japanese prefectures to promote sports in the South Kanto region.
A Gundam exhibition known as the Art of Gundam will also be part of the 35th anniversary celebrations. Its first stop will be the city of Osaka from July 12-August 31, 2014. It will then head over to Tokyo from July 18-September 27, 2014.
Gundam is also looking forward to the future and is already planning its 40th anniversary celebrations known as the Real G Next Project. Also part of the announcements for Episode Seven of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn as well as Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin.
More details for the anime adaptation of Mobile Suit Gundam the Origin was announced. It will be using Yasuhiko Yoshikazu’s original 1979 character designs and will be based his the highly successful manga. It retells the story of the original 1979 anime as well as the story of Char Aznable and his sister, Sayla Mass
