The Newtype Rankings for March 2014 was dominated by the girls of 765 Pro as The iDOLM@STER Movie sent three characters to the top 10 female rankings, one in the male rankings and topped the anime rankings. Much has changed after just one month however as the idols have been dethroned by the feisty gang over at Kill la Kill.

Haruka dropped from #1 to #9 in a month while her series, iDOLM@STER dropped from the top to #5 in the anime rankings, just shows how things can quickly change.
This month however went to Kill la Kill which has been embraced by fans (and most notably Tumblr users) not only for its great action but also for its complex and lovable characters and their relationships with each other. Ryuko and her trusty sidekick Mako take the top 2 spots for the female rankings respectively while Aikuro takes the #10 spot for the male rankings… glowing purple nipples and all.
Magi’s Aladdin meanwhile tops the male rankings while Monogatari’s Koyomi Araragi drops from #1 to #5. Kirito climbs one rank up to #4 while Gundam SEED’s Kira Yamato, who has stayed consistent in the New Type Top 10 for years now stays at #2.
World Conquest Zvezda Plot may not have placed as high as Kill la Kill but it has also managed to get into the male, female and anime rankings with the “loli world conquerer” Kate and her lackey Asuta both taking the #6 spot for the female and male rankings respectively while the series takes #3 in the anime rankings.
