International Cosplay Day Singapore is back for another round of reality-warping fun.

Organised by The Neo Tokyo Project, this year, the fan-driven cosplay and pop-culture convention will be held on August 24 (Sunday), 2014 from 11AM to 7PM at the *Scape shopping mall in Orchard Road.

SGCafe is proud to be an official media partner for the event.

Headlining the convention this year are ICDS 2014 cosplay guests Kamui from Germany — whose elaborate armour costumes and props have earned her the admiration of many fans — and Dat-Baka Cosplay, an Australian-based cosplayer best known for portraying characters from popular anime and manga fandoms.

Joining them as a third guest-of-honour is critically-acclaimed photographer Jay Tablante, who has previously collaborated with D.C. and Marvel to produce some of the most iconic and daring images in comic book cosplay.

Jay Tablante will be exhibiting some of his work at ICDS 2014. There will also be autograph signing sessions with the convention’s guests-of-honour.

Other highlights include a Cosplay Talent Showcase, four experience zones, and a ConQuest scavenger hunt where participants can enter to win prizes.

“International Cosplay Day Singapore isn’t just about cosplay,” said Jason Koh, account director of Neo Tokyo Project.

“The convention transcends barriers by presenting an eclectic fusion of East and West, and with the inclusion of guests that go beyond the usual Asian faces Singapore has grown so accustomed to, provides additional opportunities for cultural exchange,” Koh added.

Almost 3,000 pop-culture lovers from all walks of life — including anime fans, cosplay enthusiasts, gamers and photographers — attended ICDS in 2013.

This year, the convention expects to attract more than 5,000 visitors.
