Four Studio Ghibli classics make it to the top 10, and it is not very surprising as Hayao Miyazaki’s works are some of the most celebrated fictional masterpieces in Japan and are not popular only in the otaku community, but in the more mainstream Japanese society as well. My Neighbor Totoro proves why it is the face of Studio Ghibli as it takes the #1 spot, ahead of fellow Ghibli masterpiece Castle in the Sky.

Detective Conan shows why it is still one of the longest running series in anime right now by taking the #3 spot ahead of the timeless comedy Crayon Shin-chan which has brought laughs to many children  for decades.
