Convenience store chain Seven Eleven has unveiled their latest collaboration with the classic mecha anime series, Evangelion. Japanese singer-actor Daigo, along with actress Natsuki Kato appeared on stage to help unveil the collaboration’s highlight, a 2 meter figure of Eva-01 painted in Seven Eleven’s colors.
During its unveiling event, Natsuki Kato came in cosplaying the Evangelion character Misato Katsuragi with Daigo donning the Eva-01′s purple while wearing gloves featuring Seven Eleven’s colors. The event announced that 25 of these limited edition figures will be sold to the public and reservations for them will begin on August 31, 2014.
Cosplayers dressing up as Asuka, Rei, and Marie are also present during the unveiling. The figures will be displayed in Seven Eleven’s Asakusa Kaminarimon store from August 7 – 31, 2014.
Available in two colors, the original version and the Seven Eleven version, these figures stand at approximately 2 meters height and approximately 80cm in width and it weighs in at approximately 20kg. Each figure is worth exactly 1,836,000 yen. Yeah, shipping them is gonna be tough indeed. The figures come with special pedestals which features a plate containing the Evangelion’s name and its serial number. Each figure is handmade and is made of steel.
The convenience store chain also unveiled several of their limited edition Eva goodies like the Evangelion Ramen and Evadrink toppers which you can use to decorate your water bottles. Limited edition Evangelion figures will also be part of the collaboration.
