As Comiket 86 has already kicked off yesterday with a lot of chaos, and some pretty awesome cosplays, we now take a look at some of the happenings inside the Tokyo Big Sight where various anime merchandise are sold and comic circles showed the world what they can do.
The Genko Booth, which is Booth No. 143 had one of the most sought-after items in the event – a dakimakura (body pillow) of Sword Art Online II’s main character Kirito. Now there were two versions of Kirito with his new ALO avatar and his infamous “trap avatar” from GGO. Both were actually sold out, and both were sold out before the dakimakuras of his girlfriend, Asuna and his sister, Suguha.
Shaft’s booth, whose Comiket 86 items were highlighted with Madoka Magica and Nisekoi merchandise, was also sold out, as guaranteed.
Speaking of sold-out Shaft booth items, one of them was the Rakugaki Note, which featured this artwork
The Manga Time Kirara booth also ran out of stock on day 1 alone
The Nanoha Project Booth, which announced a new anime for the series, was also sold out of some items on day 1
While some of the company booths were selling out, one particular booth just reflected how weird Comiket can really be by selling picture books… of toilet paper.
And after day 1 wraps up, it’s finally cleaning time. The Big Sight area returns to its normal peaceful state, as compared to the chaos when the event started.
And for our last shot, here is Type Moon’s booth
