It’s finally the Summer Anime season and this year’s crop of series has yielded plenty of potential. Japanese character database Charapedia has once again asked its readers about their opinions, and this time, they asked people which Summer 2014 anime do they wish to continue watching.
As the season goes on, there are many people who drop certain series as they either find them too boring or that it does not really suit their tastes. The question is pointed at which series are likely to be continued by people, and with 10,000 votes, here are the results:
20) Sailor Moon Crystal
19) Love Stage
18) Hanayamata
17) Survival Game Club
16) Glasslip
15) Rokujyoma no Shinryakusha!?
14) Jinsei
13) Re: Hamatora
12) Psycho-Pass: New Edition
11) Fate/ Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya Zwei!
10) Ao Haru Ride
9) Barakamon
8) Akame Ga Kill!
7) Terror in Resonance
6) ALDNOAH.ZERO
5) Black Butler: Book of Circus
4) Monthly Shoujo Nozaki-kun
3) Tokyo Ghoul
2) Free! Eternal Summer
1) Sword Art Online II
I said this one before and I’ll say it again, should we really be surprised? Sword Art Online II tops yet another Japanese online poll about the Summer 2014 anime and it is getting rather predictable as SAO II is just simply the biggest anime this season hands down in terms of popularity.
Free! Eternal Summer meanwhile (also unsurprisingly) takes the #2 spot while Tokyo Ghoul continues to prove that it is the most popular new anime series right now by taking the #3 spot.
Comedy anime Monthly Shoujo Nozaki-kun meanwhile proves that it is worthy of its Dark Horse tag as the series takes #4 beating out favorites Akame Ga Kill!, Black Butler, Aldnoah.Zero and Terror in Resonance. Its comedic portrayal of what its like drawing shoujo manga and the people who inspire its characters has become one of the season’s rare gems and has surprised many with its popularity.
So which Summer 2014 anime would you like to continue yourself?
