Fans choose the cutest "Chubby Girl" in anime

In real life, chubby girls are often considered cute, and it’s also the same in anime as Japanese ranking website, Goo!, has asked fans on which anime chubby girl is the one who they think is the cutest.

500 respondents were polled, and they are made up of 250 men and 250 women. Do note that the “chubby” part is according to another’s point of view, so if you think that character would count as skinny, another might count her as chubby. Here the the characters who they think is the cutest chubby girl in anime.

There you have it folks, people find Mami Tomoe the cutest chubby girl in anime, and it ain’t no surprise as she is often featured in some artworks as chubby. Even her own character design and lifestyle suggest that she ain’t exactly on the slim side either.

K-On!, with characters going berserk if ever called chubby, manages to get three characters in the Top 5. Well, personal berserk buttons aside, many find all three to be slim, however, story-wise, it does suggest that Mio and Mugi are struggling to keep their flab in check, but that does not make them any less cute though.

An expected entry into the Top 5 however is Nozomi, who is now Love Live!’s very own resident chubby girl, and unlike the others in the list, she does not seem to mind at all… well, sometimes.
