Yukari Tamura has become one of Japan’s most beloved seiyuus, and it seems that the veteran voice actress best known for her roles as Nanoha Takamachi in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Tenten in Naruto, Mine from Akame Ga Kill!, and Suzuha Amane is Steins; Gate, may be putting an end at her illustrious career because of a latest post in her personal blog.
Yukarin, as she is often called by her fans, has recently turned 39, though she does not look like it one bit, and in her blog, she said that she thinks that she will “bid farewell in 2015″ and it is now the “beginning of the end” and the “countdown is about to begin”. This cryptic message has left many of her fans wondering what this might just mean?
The legendary voice actress, who still looks very young and fresh by the way, did not specify if this post means that she will really be retiring or will she be retiring only as a singer or only as a voice actress or both. However, it does seem that something will really be ending by 2015, and fans are now keeping their fingers crossed that it won’t be her career.
Yukarin will soon be reprising her most iconic role as Nanoha Takamachi in the upcoming Spring 2015 magical girl anime, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid, alongside friend and long-time partner, Nana Mizuki, who will also be reprising her iconic role as Fate Testarossa. The two are currently working together in Cross Ange as Mizuki is voicing main character Ange, while Tamura is voicing Hilda. Will Nanoha ViVid be the last anime the duo will be appearing together? If so, that would be a truly fitting end to Yukari Tamura’s career, don’t you think?
Now what do you guys think of Yukari Tamura’s possible retirement? Do you think it’s too soon? Or do you think it’s about time for her to do it?
