Kill la Kill and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann are two of the most over-the-top battle anime in existence, and they have plenty of things in common too, such as their creators. Now, these two hit anime series created by director Hiroyuki Imaishi and writer Kazuki Nakashima are teaming up to promote both of their respective manga series.
This special cross-ver artwork featuring Fight Club Mako (with Guts), Kamina as Fight Club Mako, Yoko Littner as Ryuko Matoi, and Ryuko Matoi as Yoko Littner, was illustrated by Ryou Akizuki, who illustrated the Kill la Kill manga adaptation, which just released its third and final volume earlier this week. Well, for one thing, they certainly won’t “lose their way” when they “fight the power”.
The crossover artwork also promoted the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann – Otoko Doahou! Hen manga by Saki Nonomiya, which is set in an alternate universe. A special limited edition volume of the manga will come bundled with a special Fräulein Revoltech articulated figure of “School Girl” Yoko. They are scheduled for release on June 5, 2015.
