Japan’s J-League Division 2 has recently announced their collaboration with three anime series for the “Ani X Soccer” or Animation X Soccer project. Now, new details on the collaboration have recently been announced during a press conference in Niconico Douga last February 27, 2015.
A series of six matches between the three teams with anime collaborations, Tokyo Verdy, Mito Hollyhock, and FC Gifu, will be played from March 31 until April 11, 2015. These matches will be promoted by these team’s respective partners. Tokyo Verdy’s new anime partner is Amagi Brilliant Park while agricultural/ idol anime, No-Rin!, has teamed up with FC Gifu. Finally, it ain’t no secret as to who Mito Hollyhock will be teaming up with as the team has a well-known and very strong relationship with Girls und Panzer.
The project will also feature football merchandise featuring some anime characters wearing the jerseys of their respective partner teams. These goodies will be sold in the home stadiums these teams will be playing at.
The February 27 press conference by the three teams was also attended by its players, as well as voice actress Yuka Ootsubo, best known for her roles as Yuru Yuri’s Kyouko Toshinou and Kantai Collection’s Torpedo Cruiser duo of Ooi and Kitakami. Oh, and Moffle was there too! Good thing that hot-headed fairy did not cause any trouble…
