Is Kizumonogatari finally happening?! Official website opens countdown

After FOUR years of waiting, we may finally get to see the anime movie adaptation of NisiOisin’s Kizumonogatari, which focuses on the story, Koyomi Vamp, the prequel for the events which happened in Bakemonogatari. This is all thanks to an update in the movie’s official website.

The website now shows a countdown timer, which is set to end on October 4 at 12:56 a.m. Japan time, which will be this Sunday. What the countdown will lead to could be anybody’s guess, but fans are really hopeful it is an announcement on when the movie will be shown. The website’s source code meanwhile contains a line which could roughly be translated to “That’s bad. I’m not going to show you anything today.”

That very official website was launched back in 2011, which was also when the anime movie adaptation of Kizumonogatari was announced. The film was originally slated for 2014, and then Fall 2013, and then it was put on hold indefinitely. So does this new countdown finally mean the four years of waiting will now end? I guess we will find out on Sunday.
