The girl who cried wolf has met her match, and she and her “Black Prince” are headed to the big screen as Ayuko Hatta’s Wolf Girl & Black Prince (Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji) shoujo manga is getting itself a live-action movie adaptation, which is slated for May 2016.
Kenti Yamazaki, who stars as both L from the live-action Death Note TV series as well as the upcoming Your Lie in April movie’s Kousei Arima, will star as the movie’s “Black Prince”, Kyouya Sata. Meanwhile, his “Wolf Girl” counterpart, the serial liar, Erika Shinohara, will be played by Fumi Nikaidou.
Ryuuichi Hiroki will be directing the film, and filming is scheduled to begin in December and will end in January. More announcements about this new live-action adaptation will be made in the days to come. Here’s the new announcement trailer:
The Wolf Girl & Black Prince manga follows Erika Shinohara, a girl who likes making up stories about her love life. One day, she lies to her friends that she is dating a hot guy, who suddenly turns out to be in the same school as her. She makes a deal with him to be her fake boyfriend, however, this good-looking classmate has turned out to be one sadistic person who just loves tormenting her.
