Prison School is getting itself a live-action TV adaptation this October, and the series’ official website has unveiled a new visual, which fans of the anime may be all too familiar with… Here it is, take a look:
That image really looks familiar, right? That’s because it is inspired by the second key visual from the anime adaptation of Akira Hiramoto’s bestselling ecchi manga.
While the prison boys aren’t exactly building a pyramid, there are a few similarities, which include Hana and Meiko’s poses. Also added in the new visual are a few scenes from the manga. The website also revealed the actor playing the role of Jouji “Joe” Nezu, and he is former kickboxer, Daiki Miyagi.
The series will star Taishi Nakagawa as Kiyoshi, Tokio Emoto as Takehito “Gakuto” Morokuzu, Masato Yano as Shingo Wakamoto, Japanese comedian, and Galigaligalixon as Reiji “Andre” Andou. The Underground Student Council meanwhile will comprise of Hirona Yamazaki as Mari Kurihara, the Underground Student Council President, Aoi Morikawa as Hana Midorikawa, the underground student council secretary, and who could for get the vice president, Meiko Shiraki, who is played by Asana Mamoru. You can see the cast in costume through this link.
This new TV series is slated to premiere on October 25, 2015 via MBS. Because of the original manga’s well-known graphic nature, the series will be aired late at night.
