Not only is the tear jerker, AnoHana, getting a live-action adaptation, but another tear-inducing anime, Your Lie in April, is getting one as well, and it is about to hit the big screen, which means prepare your tissues ladies and gentlemen!
Based on Naoshi Arakawa’s bestselling music manga, Your Lie in April has induced tears in fans with its beautiful music and tragic setting.
Its live-action movie adaptation will star Kento Yamazaki, who is known to fans as L in the live-action Death Note drama series, and he will be playing Kousei Arima. Suzu Hirose, who played Chihayafuru: Shimo no Ku’s Chihaya, will be playing the film’s tragic female lead, Kaori Miyazono, while Japanese pop singer and E-Girls group member, Anna Ishii, will be playing Kousei’s childhood friend, Tsubaki Sawabe. Finally, rounding out the main cast will be Taishi Nakagawa, ho will be playing Ryouta Watari.
Takehiko Shinjou will be directing the movie, while Strawberry Night live-action series’ Yukari Tatsui will be writing the scripts. The movie is slated for release sometime in 2016.
