We are getting a new Magical Girl (Mahou Shoujo) anime, however, expect this one to have a darker tone, just like Madoka Magica, as Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku light novels’ 8th volume has announced that the light novel series will be getting an anime adaptation.
No format for this anime adaptation, whether it will be a TV anime, an animated movie, an OVA, or an ONA, has been specified for this announcement, however, be sure that this one won’t be your typical magical girl anime.
Written by Asari Endou, the Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku light novels are set on a world where a social game turns selected people into magical girls, who get their powers through magical energy. However, one district is having a crisis on magical energy and must halve its population of 16 magical girls. At first, the game is much more straightforward and are just races for magical candies, however, as time passes by, the rules get crueler and even more twisted, and the 16 magical girls are forced into a deadly game of survival against one another.
Sounds pretty heavy huh? There is also no word for when this anime will be released, so stay tuned for more updates.
