Nami Sano’s critically acclaimed and bestselling comedy manga, Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto, is finally getting itself a much-needed anime adaptation, as Kadokawa launches a new official website to announce the new anime. The website has also revealed the upcoming anime’s key visual, which features the titular main character, Sakamoto.
The website also revealed that Sakamoto will be voiced by veteran voice actor, Hikaru Midorikawa, who is best known for voicing Heero Yui in Gundam Wing and Kaede Rukawa in Slam Dunk. Studio DEEN will be animating the new show, with Gintama director, Shinji Akamatsu at the helm of this new project as the director. Ranma 1/2 character designer, Atsuko Nakajima, is in charge of the character designs. According to the website, the anime is slated to premiere in April 2016.
Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto follows the school life of the titular Sakamoto, who is a new transfer student who manages to make all of his classmates jealous of him. Their repeated efforts to bully him with pranks always seem to backfire as they would often end up to make him look cooler.
